SW stained my couch!! Parents will kill!!

Depending on the fabric, it's not a stain per say. What you're looking at is the minerals left behind when the water evaporates. On most fabrics it isn't noticable, but on couches with microfiber, faux leather, swede (etc etc) it's going to show..

Use a damp cloth (use distilled water) and blot gently around the "stain" using a hair dryer to dry it out.. Repeat until the stain is gone.

Now, Just FYI, if you were using any strange additives, or chemicals those WILL stain some fabrics (Soylent green anyone? :) ).

Good luck!

This is the Truth, You will or might have to over saturate to get it out...

Still haven't had time to take out the stain but the rents didn't notice yesterday when they were downstairs painting so I think I'm good so far. They will notice eventually so hopefully I can get it out... :-/

Even water can leave a stained mark on some fabrics.

True, but saltwater is known for "bleaching" stuff. If you spill saltwater on something it's more likely to fade it or make the dyes run together than plain water.
The best bet is just not to spill anything on upholstery, lol.

How are you taking the stain out so far? Might try rinsing using freshwater with soap to remove the stain and sucking the water with a carpet steam cleaner with upholstery attachment. That's what was suggested to me to take the stain out made by saltwater.
