Sword Plant Dying

Well, I was told it was an "Amazon Sword Plant" Is that an Aponogeton? I dont know.
Its going to be a bummer if the thing completley goes dormant. I'm going to have a big hole in my background untill it decides to wake up:(

No, they're two very different plants. Maybe do a search for Aponogetons, there's many different kinds. But I guess if you were told Amazon sword, then it's an Echinodorus (Amazon sword = Echinodorus species). Try looking those up as well, and compare.

Following up on this old thread. Looks like it was emersed growth, because all the original leaves have moulted off, and I'm getting lots of new growth.
The new leaves are about 6" tall now, and very healthy looking. The only thing I'm not sure about is that they seem a bit krinkly. Is this normal for new sword plant leaves?
Anyway, thanks for all your help. I probably would have thrown the thing away without it. Now it looks like its going to be a real centerpiece for my tank.
