Symbiotic Relation Compatibility

I agree with Maxilaria. I would not even try those as first anemones. And not in that size of tank. I would stay with a BTA. And would consider a Crab or shrimp to live in it if the Clowns do not host in it after a month or two. Besides the two anemones you mentioned would eventually catch the goby.

Thanks for the help. I talked to my reef guru and he too warned against dying carpets and the waste of time magnificent. Oh well :( . I'm going to start off with some rose BTA's as soon as I get my lighting system and build a canopy. I'll probably just turn it into a 'beginner coral' reef, with one or two BTA's.

Socal I'm not trying to be a jerk but, even with the bta's I would wait for a pretty good while before I added them. They may be hardy for anemonies but even then they need a tank thats ," IMO" at least 6 to 8 months old. They get a lot of their nutrition from filter feeding and need a well established tank to do well. If you want a good hardy starter anemonie I'd go with one of the epie's ," rock anemonies" they are as hardy as shrooms if they have enought light. They also come in an outstanding range of colours and don't move around too much and I've never had one eat fish.

the tank is about 7 months old and will turn a year old in September

I guess you didn't catch that part; maybe you were distracted by the pic.
And hey, how could you be a jerk if you're giving helpful advice?

Oh, and mogurnda, it's funny that you asked if they are doing the seizures, beause the day after you posted that question, I finally saw them "seizuring", but I expected only the smaller one to do it but they both did it.
