I have a couple of 8'' Synodontis eupterus, beautiful fish,
but are they good scavengers?
I have seen the way they act when food is introduced,
and Im a bit over my two 15'' oscars constant mess.
plecos just cant keep up with the amount of food wasted.
so what do we think?

I have a Syno. nigrita with my oscar and he does a bit of clean up. The main clean up crew for my oscar is my flagtail and my 6 clown loaches. The flagtail actually follows the oscar around and catches food that he blows through his gills. The loaches never miss a thing that hits the bottom

I used to have one in with each of my Oscar pairs until I changed things around some. The did alright but I found the best cleaner-uppers with my Oscars are Convicts or Firemouths. I get them as juvies and my Oscars act like they don't even see them. They're fast and street smart around the Oscars and they're little pigs when it comes to food.

Synos love food, but even so mine isn't a very good scavenger. They'll do a little bit, but not a lot in my experience.
