I have this vibrant green THICK algae thats growing in patches. Im not sure what it is exactly and trying to figure out the best way to get rid of it.
I have a pleco that takes care of everything, except that. For some reason he doesnt eat it.
Thanks!

Definitely sounds like cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria is not an algae at all. I would suggest using some maracyn to rid it from your tanks. It's not healthy for you or the tank inhabitants.

no it shouldn't but it could affect your biofilter. I would manually remove as much as you can before treatment. Some people have had efficacy with half doses. What are your nitrate readings like? i found that when my nitrate levels get way to low, i get cyano, though this may not be the case with you. How is the flow in the tank?

im going to disagree with jinkz you shouldnt use a half dose... use at full strength for the recommended time...
if you do not kill all of the BGA when you use this it could potentially result in antibiotic resistant strains so you want to make sure to erradicate the colony and not just use half strength doses
