T5 Luminaire Problem

Hi,

I have recently bought a Marine setup from my LFS (I have kept a tropical tank for the last three years!). Unforunately I have had nothing but problems with the Interpet T5 Luminaire(s!) supplied. I have had four different units so far (also lots of replacement bulbs!), with failures ranging from one of the elements failing, loud buzzing noise, to loud bangs and smoke!

I have my equipment on a surge protected gang with RCD, and nothing else is having any problems, so I think my electrics can be ruled out.

Is this a common problem with the Interpet Units? Does anybody have any experience of the Arcadia units as an alternative (or any other make/model)?

Never used those as they are kind of off brand.I have always stuck with icecap's set up.
