T5HO vs LED for high tech planted

Go T5HO, LED's can be good but most of the prebuilt fixtures aren't good for anything other then low light. If you want LED's you'll have to make a DIY fixture.

I would go with T5 over LED for high light tank. Some of the LED fixtures are hit and miss on the light spectrum.

well see I already have 216w of T5HO i got back at Xmas. And it runs great! I was just looking into LEDs for either if I upgrade to a 125 or if this light does fail. I have a bit of algae problem right now but im positive it is because I have not dosed any ferts of any kind. (Not many plants and fish yet actually) Even with half the light and 1.5bps co2 and heard LED seems to help with algae problems

Led's are the future! The newer fixtures are being made with better dispersion and penetration. Research it first though. I have seen many tanks with Led's that do seem to have less of an algae issue. I have not personally used them, but I will next. Oh, I have a 150g heavily planted tank.

Happy hunting!

Do you happen to have a drop checker for the CO2?
