Taco Bell Seasons Beef with Oats?

Taco bell never states directly that the oatmeal is a seasoning. Though some brew masters would call it that. Pretty sure most folks and Taco Bell when cornered would call it an extender. Won't stop me from loving the 10 for $2 tacos...lmao.

Taco bell never states directly that the oatmeal is a seasoning.

They do on their website. From the TB website showing the ingredients for their seasoned beef:

Beef, Water, Seasoning [Isolated Oat Product, Salt, Chili Pepper, Onion Powder, Tomato Powder, Oats (Wheat), Soy Lecithin, Sugar, Spices, Maltodextrin, Soybean Oil (Anti-dusting Agent), Garlic Powder, Autolyzed Yeast Extract, Citric Acid, Caramel Color, Cocoa Powder (Processed With Alkali), Silicon Dioxide, Natural Flavors, Yeast, Modified Corn Starch, Natural Smoke Flavor], Salt, Sodium Phosphates. CONTAINS SOYBEAN, WHEAT

Like you said though, I think that their price makes it acceptable. Had I been paying big bucks for what they were claiming was "premium beef" tacos, I'd be a little upset. But since everything is edible, and the price is right, I don't think that they'll see much of a backlash among their diners. Even those who are upset now, will probably be lining up again after a few cocktails...

Actually, this whole thing could play in their favor. Since reading this story, I've been thinking of Taco Bell all day. I can see a possible run for the border in the near future...

saw that....I meant in their news statement...yep.....just a nation of complainers now days...wanting to make a buck....

Hey me too. I've been trying to resist the urge but seeing that I'm not the only one makes it a bit more difficult.

I usually get the chicken or the steak anyway.

Its done. I sent out the taco text to my husband who will be getting off work in an hour. :naughty:

LMAO, anyone who thought that was all 100% ground beef has never had ground beef! Reminds me of the woman who was going to sue McDonalds for adding a toy in their Happy meals!!!

I used to work in the food chemistry field in the mid-80's and we tested fat content in ground beef from several of the big chains. Fwiw Taco Bell's beef was the leanest by far, coming in at about 20%-22% fat. In contrast McD's and BK's hovered right around 30%.
