My gourami sometimes rest like this. He has his head higher than his tail (not looking straight up mind you) for a while then moves on after a little rest.

Just an update
He seems better this morning he still rests on an angle but not as severe as last night. I just fed him and the guppies - everybody is eating.
I have only seen him dart at 1 guppy during feeding time - which I think is normal.
All my guppies have their fins so I think everyone behaved last night.
