Hi all,

I've recently wanted to take more photos of my tankmates to post on the forums. However whenever I try to take a photo using my digital camera I have problems as the auto focus focuses on the glass and not the intended photo subject. My camera wasn't cheap so I don't think it's anything to do with that. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I am no expert, but I get my best pictures when there is no other light in the room. If you have a window in the room with the tank try taking pictures in the evening or night. By shooting with only the light coming from with in the tank the subjects tend to be the brightest and easiest to shoot. I hope this helps.

Did you figure it out yet? Let's see some!

IF the AF on the camera is trying to focus on the glass, my guess would be that the glass needs to be cleaned.

Thanks all. My glass is spotless:) . Bought a small tripod off e bay. Think it is because there's too much reflection off the glass. Will experiment with the lighting and let you know.

That looks v good. Saving for an underwater camera for my trip to South Africa so hopefully won't need one soon!
