talk about bad timing

ran into a buddy of mine. talked about aquariums since we both own some. turns out he's selling one of his 75gals.
he'd sell me the tank, a heater and a 403 Fluval canister filter all for 100$.

good me deal me thinks.

think I'll buy it and eventually start a reef. never had one before. I'll still keep my 30gals, which is currently cycling, and go with the original plan.

Congrats! Yup, snatch that baby up, that is a good deal. You could always turn that 30g into a sump/fuge and add the contents of it to the 75g.

Nice! Or...you can use the 75G as your display and use the 30G as your sump and/or refugium. :thumbsup:

I wouldn't turn that price down even if I had to store it for a year before I could use it.

I agree, if you don't want 2 tanks the idea of turning the 30 into a sump/fuge for the 75 is a great one.

I'll definitely take it. my buddy isn't in a hurry to sell anyways. he first has to get rid of the 2 piranas that live in it.

sump/refugium is a little too new to me. I'm "oldschool"...hahaha

guess I'll start reading more on the subject. lol

i agree with bad timing if i woulda waited a week or two i coulda gotten a 90 gallon for like 100-125 and everyting else for like 500-600 but hey isnt that how life works

already read it...lol...it was a trial and error today and more error then trial so yea...i gotta drill my holes to aviod sump flood...and lessen the return flow to aviod main display flood...thanks though...that website should b a sticky best sump site out there!
