Tall growing fresh water plants

plants and algea in an aquarium are like any living system, it just takes time getting used to the setup and the chemistry. So far the Ottos are doing a great job controling most of the algea. I know that I'll continue to have lots of questions about setting things up, but that's why AC fourums are so great!

that's a fact..but will5 is right about the CO2..I had to have atleast 4 yeast generators on my 75 to get algae under control..I will be cutting over to a pressurized system very soon.

also check your state regulations..anacharis aka elodea densa, brazillian waterweed..is not legal to sell in some states .

it does grow tall. also wisteria, watersprite . with 4-5 wpg you have a few plants you can go with.

Already checked on the legal plants. the great state of Alabama (note I'm rolling my eyes) has no restrictions on plants (at least that I can find).

While your state may not have any restrictions, there are federal laws that control what plants you can have. So you might check them as well.

Go over to the sights i listed and say that same thing and i bet you 5.00 that ever one will agree with me on this one.

A WELL BLANCED PLANTED TANK HAS LITTLE TO NO ALGAE. IT WILL FAll MORE ON THE NO ALGAE SIDE.

Ok i know i am new to this forum but i have had a fish tank every since i was 10 years old and i am no 23. My tanks have been plated for the past 5 years. So i think i would know at leats a little about them i hope.

So don't listen to me and have a green tank but it won't be from plants. ;)

Oh believe me, I'm listening to everyone I can, I already started looking through the websites :)

Amazon Swords and Water Sprite are pretty good at keeping algae in check. I hear that Nerite Snails also do a great job as well.

Take care!

If you get anacharis you will not be dissapointed. I got 2 bunches of it 3 weeks ago and already it has grown to the top of my aquarium and is reproducing like mad. I think I have about 4 times as much now as when I first got it.
