Tank Background

Depending on how good your printer is, and the quality of the picture. You can poster print pictures. Personally I have d/l some nice digital artwork, some abstracts. 4 sheets of paper taped together fits a 20 gallon quite well. Of course the bigger you make the picture the more pixelated it gets. So the higher quality of the picture the better ie; 1024 by768 at least. You will use a heck of a lot of ink though. I did it just to see the results. I'ts an idea at least. I like it on my 20 gallon.

I thought, when you paint the back of the tank, that you just paint the outside. You don't have to worry about harming your fish and you can touch up, if you ever have to, without a problem. Do you really paint the inside of the tank?

Most people paint the outside, though I have seen people post questions on fish-safe paints, wanting to paint the inside. I don't see the advantage to painting the inside, and as you say the outside can be touched up if needed - that would be a lot more difficult if it was on the inside :)
