Tank Cloudyness NEWBIE

Hi all,

Im new to the aquarium scene and I have a 30 gal tank. When I filled up the tank there was a little cloudyness but nothing big....I let the water filter and heat up for 24hours and I then planted about 7 plants. 5 days have gone by and the water is getting pretty cloudy. I have yet to put in any fish and Im not sure what to do about this cloudyness. Any ideas?

I have also tested the water and the PH is steady at 7.0.

Bacterial Bloom caused by the ammonia production caused by decaying leaves and roots. Most plants dieback somewhat when their environment changed (not always visible) releasing organics and ammonia. I would look into fishless cycling right now and start cycling the tank (or you could do the plant cycle process but I prefer to grow a good bacterial biofilter before adding fish). Don't worry 4 ppm Ammonia will not hurt the plants but actually help them. Let the tanks stabilize and it will eventually clear up.
