Hi,

I'm new to this hobby.

I just started a 72g tank with plants and plan to put fishes in after the tank cycled (I use fishless cycling).

I have 4 T5 tubes (4x56W) for my plants. I use liquid CO2 (Natural Aquarium Vital) for now until I can install the gas system.

My problem is my tank temperature raises from 4-6 degree after 10 hours of light. I raised the light fixture up about 3-1/2 inches (I use 4x4 pieces of wood) above the tank but it did not help too much.

What can I do to fix this problem? Any cooler that you recommended without lots of plumbing requirement?

Thank you very much in advance.

You need to identify the source of the heat!!!! Maybe move the tank if it from direct sunlight or ad a chiller! Where are you located and what is the room temperature?

You can try putting a small fan to blow across the water. A small computer fan should be OK.

Small fan sounds good to me!!!!!!! Also increase the distance between the lights and the water!
