Suprised I`ve not been able to find out enough about this, but I am trying to get an optimum flow around my tank. What is recommended?

Here is my setup:

I'm not entirely sure, however I'll be keeping a close eye on your thread as I've been wondering the same thing lately before I redo the landscaping on my tank.

What size tank? What size/type of filters/powerheads? Can you post some pics? At what levels, vertically, are the suction and discharges?

OK, my camera is not working at the moment, but here is a better description to go with the "illustration".

Tank is 60x18x18
Main filter is Fluval 403

I put the extra powerhead on to try and get better circulation around the rock piles. Am not at home right now, but the powerhead isn't particularly strong.

The intake for the 403 is 2" from the substrate and the exit is about 3" from the surface, pointing up slightly to agitate the surface.

I expect a few people would be interested to hear some recommendations at least.. forget my setup.. what to people think is a good flow layout?

I would get things set up with the decor and filters and using food coloring experiment with the placement, or use some crushed flakes to see what goes where. Eventualy you will see dead spots where uneaten food and wastes collect.
