Tank light not working =(

Hi guys!

This may be a stupid question, but.. I am kind of illiterate when it comes to equipment.

I have a Top Fin Aquascene 5 Aquarium Kit - and the light conked out on me. I replaced the bulb, but still nothing. :huh:

Am I nissing something i could check? Would there be a fuse or something that I could fix?

I'm not sure if it is worth it or if I should just shell out the $40 for a new tank..

Last time that happened to me it was the starter. There should only be a starter and a transformer inside the hood. I'd say open the hood, look at what kind of starter it is (should be like a number and letter(s)) and get another one at a home depot or hardware store or walmart. They are much more expensive at pet stores.

Wow, we opened it all up but.. there was no starter, just this crazy weird electrical panel inside. One of my coworkers does re-wiring in his spare time, and he looked at it in total shock.

So... I just decided that since the same tank is on sale at petSmart for $40, it would be easier to just pick one up.

Probally electronic ballast, needs no starter.
