Anyone use it? I've been trying one called Aquarium Lab (www.aquariumlab.com) and it's pretty cool.. There is some sort of glitch with the version they have on their website, but the 2.8 version that Download.com has works fine. I'm sure they'll work it out, eventually.

Anyway... Does anyone know of anything else out there?

Nope, haven't used that one myself. I have definately tried out a lot over the years but none of them were very good. That screenshot alone makes that program look 100x better than any software I have tried.. I will be checking it out right now. Hope it runs on Windows7.

Looks like it is actually version 2.9 when you run the installer, but Help/About still says 2.8, weird.

K, first impression, AWESOME!

On the website, it says it's version 4.0.3.. www.download.com has it listed at 2.8. Help/about says 2.8.. Where are you seeing 2.9? Not that it really matters much. I read the changes, and it seems that the biggest difference in 2.x and 4.x is the ability to have multiple tanks.. I've only got one, so 2.x works for me.

4.0.3 downloads just fine, but everytime I click on anything after installing it, it gives me a memory error. Tried it on 2 systems now, same result.

I didn't pay attention to what the installer splash screen said, so mine probably said 2.9 as well. The about, though, says 2.8.

So what are your thoughts on the software? Pretty robust, ain't it? I love the logging and the notes.

Ya, I got a memory error once and just clicked ok and it seemed to continue just fine. Don't know if it really is causing a problem or just an annoyance.

As for the software. DANG... robust for sure. Soooooo much information you can input on everything. Costs of everything, electricity used.. it really is a very nice piece of software. I really haven't found anything it is lacking. Photo areas, youtube links, so it appears you can like your online profile like on youtube to the software and view videos of your tank that you upload there. I haven't gone that deep into the program yet but so far nothing but impressed.

ok, one flaw, when you add a fish and try and look it up on their "wiki" I haven't found any of my fish so far, so looks like their online database needs a lot of work.

I re-ran the installer lastnight, and mine does indeed say 2.9.. Typos, gotta love em =)

I got it mainly for the test logging, but the rest is pretty spiffy too.. Weird on the wiki thing. Did you report the bug?

Thats a really cool bit of software Corax....thanks a lot for posting this..I think this can be a very valuable tool to aquarists as i think its quite comprehensive....

Thanks

Happy to help out.. And I agree, very valuable. One thing I've observed about myself is that I HATE blank spots in spreadsheets.. So, if I have a spreadsheet that is telling me to test certain things on certain dates, I'm more likely to do it. Same goes for water changes, bulb replacements and other annoying yet critical chores.. The reward is a complete spreadsheet and the ability to compile really cool charts! and I love charts.. It's the Dilbert in me.. :hypnotized:
