Ok well I did a 30% water change actually more of. I did a gravel cleaning while doing the water change and added new water. I treated the water with chlorine remover and bacteria growth stuff. This should help my tank right? I noticed my white tipped is swimming around a lot more during the day. Is this normal? I read that they were nocturnal. Just being precautious.

Without test results, you should go very slowly in making any changes--a sudden change in water parameters, even to ones that are better, can be very stressful for the fish.

As for the white tip--as it matures, it will become more and more active as it tries to migrate to high salinity waters.

ok well he's getting big about 6" now it looks. I have a 45 gallon to be set up in a month should I switch him over to salt? or what should I do?

Any ideas how old the fish is? Size isn't a good indicator, since size can be limited by lots of factors.

No actually I'm not bought him from a fish store.

I can post some pics of him for you if you'd like

Sorry, but you can't really tell from looking at the fish. You're going to have to start increasing salinity for him soon, though--and monitor his condition as you go, being ready to reduce/maintain a low salinity for quite some time.
