I recently converted my freshwater tank to salt, and in doing so drained it completely and added 120 lbs of argonite. I shimmed the stand a while back to get it level but it was not perfectly level for a few months. While I had it drained, I shimmed it some more and this time got it spot on level. Well every once in a while I will hear a pop sound come from the tank. It did it even when it was freshwater, but not as often, and I assumed it was a fish knocking around a rock. Right now there is only live rock in the tank and nothing else. I don't think it is a mantis shrimp because it was doing it before the rock went in. Could this popping sound be the pine stand settling on the shims, or is this a sign that my tank could bust. I am really worried. The tank was bought new two years ago and is an oceanview brand. I have emailed them about it but have not gotten a response yet.
I should also mention that the tank does not leak or have any visible problems with the seams.
Thanks for any replies.
