Tank Mates For Female Cons

I Just lost a 5 inch firemouth last week. My 55 gallon now has 2 Female Cons 2 pictus cat and a rubberlipped pleco. Before the death of my firemouth my cons would pretty much eat out of my hand and get excited when I came over to their tank. Well now they go hide and are acting skittish when it is feeding time, Any way there is the scoop. I was wondering what I could do or what I could add to the tank to make them happy like they were before! I dont want fry so no male cons... Thanks

some dither fish such as danios might help.

Thats what I was thinking. I really dont want anymore cichlids I was going to get another firemouth but decided to let the cons have the run of the tank. I know they need to be kept in groups would 5-6 be good?

just make sure you dont get any males....lol

danios sound good, you could also go with some black skirt tetras or congos..

I agree giant danio are great for dither fish. You could also keep a nice school of cories in that tank as well. Sometimes my cories and giant danios swim together its quite fun to watch but my cichlids get jealous lol.

I ended up not being able to find any giant dainos so I got 5 Melanotaenia fluviatilis rainbows. thanks
