Just a quick heads up. If you try the rams again, ask your lfs, where they are being bred. The ones bred in asia are notorious for being fragile and short lived, so don't even waste your money if they are from asia. On the other hand, the ones that are bred in europe are pretty hardy in comparison. If you can get some that where bred in europe or locally go for it. They are a great fish if you can get good stock.
 
What about a handful of male guppys? I have seen some very pretty and colorful ones...
