Tank not cycling?

I did a fish cycle and it took about 3 mo maybe longer to cycle. I didnt use prime but I did another tank fishless cycle and added TopFin (Bacteria Supplement) poured it in the hob filter with some ammonia and it took about a month for that tank to cycle. hope this might help :)

Well, I just found this out: it looks like my tap water contains .25 ppm ammonia. I tested it and it registered that amount. But when I used bottled water, it showed no ammonia. With that in mind, is there anything I need to consider or be aware of?
That sucks. Wow, I'd use extra Prime when doing water changes.

I'd also avoid drinking that water. Maybe get a RO filtration system.

The bottled water will probably not have the other common nutrients to buffer your pH and maintaining it.

A well established tank will be able to handle the .25 ammonia in your tap water. Using prime will bind it so it is not toxic to your fish, yet still available to your bacteria.
