before: looked cluttered & tacky... too much going on

after: changed to black background (it's actually one of those stiff foam presentation boards... no reflection when taking pics) I moved the heater horizontal, pulled out Christmas present silk plants, removed stinky driftwood, new microsword and hairgrass fake plants :p... a little re-arranging.... clean, crisp and simple :D

(I need to trim that flowering stalk :o)

What do you think? :D

i love the new look. looks very clean.

i still wonder to this day, why people like to put their therometer visable in their tank. unless you're expecting a change in temperature, whats the need for it once the heater is set? i put my therometer in my Aquaclear filter, or any HOB filter.

Dang that is a good idea - having it in the filter! I can't put it on the sides of the tank... I have the tank in a corner so it would be hard to read. Filter is a good idea, but then you won't know if your water is boiling or freezing (heater malfunction).

That flower is come from an aponogeton, (sp) I have the same thing. It gets abouve the water level, then blooms into a tall white flower, sorta like a cat-tail thing. It's kinda neat if you have a lot at once. I had five going at once, I had to take the hood off, it was pretty cool.

Yea I used to have a ton of those flowers too... if I trim them all the way down, I'll have a new one in less than a week. Usually I keep them trimmed but I'm trying to keep my hands out of the tank this week lol

At one time about half of the top was covered with flowers and the leaves that they shoot to the surface - kinda cool but nothing else got light :p
