How can you tell the difference between a Fish tank and a reptile tank? I have a friend throwing out a 55 gallon but he dont know if its a fish tank or not. Anyone know how to I could tell?

i'd say the glass is all pretty much the same, unless you have a special tank made just for reptiles. those are usually cut-aways w/ screening or have different shapes or whatnot. if the tank looks like a "fish" tank and can hold water, then it'll work. you might just wanna make sure it can hold water tho.

Most herp tanks are made with thinner glass than fish tanks, and are not therefore engineered to be filled with water. Catastrophic failure is a possiblilty when these tanks are full of water.
