tank racks

Has anyone built their own tank racks or even just their own stands? I've been looking at pictures of "fish rooms" online with tanks lining the walls from floor to ceiling. I'd love to have more tanks but have limited space. I will be moving into a basement apartment at the end of the year so this would be an ideal time for me to consider a rack system. Any ideas, experiences to share?

ive got my tank on a DIY stand that consists of 6 cinderblocks and a solid oak door cut to 5'x2'. i covered the door w/ a clear plastic shower curtain to prevent warping, the stapled a black cloth shower curtain to the underside to create a skirt to hide the blocks. it was easy to do and looks very nice.

what size tank are you talking about? 29-55 range w/ that same construction you could sub. 4x12s or any other sturdy combination for the oak door and stack blocks on the ends. i imagine you could make 2 sturdy shelfs then cover the blocks somehow.
