I have had a 50 gallon tank for about a month now with two small severums, a small tinfoil barb, a small bala shark, a 4 inch silver dollar, and two small angels (small in comparison to their max size). I was wondering if someone can give me some recommendations on the following things: I was thinking about getting a bottom feeder. What would someone recommend for my tank? Are there any other fish that would be a good addition to my tank? Also would it be ok to move my betta to the 50 gallon or would the betta create problems?

There is a good chance that the Angels might rip the betta apart. Barring that, the betta may spend all of its time flaring at the angels and attacking them (since angels have large "finnage"). You never really know until you try, but why put your animals at risk?
Oh, and you do know that bala sharks and tinfoil barbs get much too large for a 55g tank, right?

As for bottom feeders in your situation, I might try some of the larger cory cats, like the bronze corys. You want something relatively small since a 55g is a rather narrow tank, but nothing so small that the larger fish might try to make a meal out of.

I have a 55G, and I have 3 albino cories to do the bottom vacuuming. They work out fine. I'd get at least a couple...they tend to do better in groups.

Cory cats are the best option, get a few like 3 or more. It is true that the bala shark and tinfoil barb will need more space one day. Bala sharks are also a schooling fish and should be kept in a group of 3 or more. Visit my website to learm more about Bala Sharks.
