hey guys i just have a question. i dont really like the way we have our tank set up. its a 55 gallon we have 5 little growths of hari grass. 2 anibus plants one is farley large. and some java fern. we have 1 medium sized bogwood and another larger size. as well as pvc pipe for our eels to hide in. we have 2 tall fake plants as well. there is a picture of the tank on my profile. any suggestions would be greatly apprieciated. just so everyone knows we are upgrading our tank as soon as our fish start getting too large for this one as i know all the fish we have get rather large.:thm:

suggestions on improving the way the tank looks? if that is what you are asking, i would paint the back black (or use some black paper, etc.) I think it really puts the emphasis on the fish and the plants. Also, you could also add some dimensions to the tank by raking the substrating (back higher than the front... gives the impression of larger surface area). And, of course, more plants, lol. I think it looks nice as it is, but you could do some little things to make it really stand out.

thanks the tank is already black behind. and unfortnatlly cant push the gravel upwards as the eels use it to burrow and our chiclid digs huge holes in it. We did try that lol. thanks for the input. ill change the name to tank deesign or something like that

Maybe add a few more eel tubes? I would cover the tubes in silicone and roll it in gravel though to make them appear more natural to the surroundings. If it were my tank I would put an eel tube pyramid in the back middle, and then design around that. I try to figure out which of my fish needs the most help form me to make them comfortable in the tank, and try to design around their needs. You could even cover the eel tubes with plants that have ribazones (sp) ie: windelov, java moss, java fern.
