What sized tank would I need for 24 of these? The eBay auction in which I bid on them on Sat is apparently going to end soon with me as the high bidder...

Well it depends, are you getting the really big striped ramshorns (which is a type of flat apple snail) or the tiny pond variety that come in red or brown? If it's the latter my LFS gives me those for free, but the first is usually 1-2 dollars.

Also, do you want to breed them or do you just want to look at them? I think you could easily stick them in a 10 gallon even if you were breeding them. Feed them zucchini often and you should have a million in no time. Make sure your pH is 7.0 or higher and you shouldn't have to do much to take care of them, they're easy.

If you are putting them in with other fish, even 24 of the small ones is not that heavy a load imo. If it's the large ones you should get them a tank.

I think that these are the smaller ones...not completely sure. I'll probably be getting a 29 here anyway, and that would be a good impetus to getting one, eh?

Those guys are my favorites. I have them in all my tanks and even have a 1 gallon snail tank full of them. They don't seem to create as much waste as they take in so that is great and they keep my tanks nice and clean (excpet the betta tank so I think I will add more in there). Feed them any veggies, mine love lettuce and celery. They are pretty good about not doing too much damage to plants either. You have a few tanks I believe so spread them out and you shoudl be fine. The ones in my 10 gallon are still pencil eraser sized and there is probably well over 20 of them that I can notice. A good snail choice. Plus if there are too many I just crush the smaller ones and the catfish go crazy over the bits that sink down.

Dude, If you wanted snails, you should have told me, I had tons and tons, like they were all over my tank. Then, I got some yo-yo loaches and they took care of most of the snails. There are so many less then there used to be. They came on my amazon sword when I bought it a long time ago and I had no idea. I tried to get them out so much, but nothing worked except the loaches. I could just like send you a bunch for free. I don't want them, maybe you'd like to trade, a 150g tank for 10 snails, seems like a fair trade to me.;) ;) :) :p ;)
