So, I have a 10g tank that is suddenly slow leaking. It's not the cords nor the glass, I've checked a dozen times. It's a 4-5 month old tank from Petco.

Could I return it? How do I go about doing that?

I have silicone-d a divider, it's since removed. How should I remove the residue?

Please help, I have two male Betta in there, planted tank and all. I don't want the leak to get worse and them be stuck in a tiny tank...

Any other way it could be leaking?
It makes a small puddle under the tank and slightly seeps out from under it. It must be coming from the bottom... How do these things happen, sucks so much.

More then likely it's the bottom of the tank. Not much you can do short of taking everything out and doing a water test to see exactly where the leak is coming from. Maybe it's something you can fix with some silicone.

As far as the store taking back your used tank. I doubt it but you could try. I would just be ready to purchase a new tank. Sometimes these things happen =/

A new 10 gallon should cost you less than $15. It wouldn't hurt to call the store and see if they will do anything for you if you can prove that it's only a few months old

Yes, I know. I plan on buying a 40 breeder Monday or Tuesday!
I believe there is a warranty on Petco tanks, so I should be able to at least exchange it.

I do not 'need' a 10g, I have two, one is just a snail tank with sunlight and the other houses the two Betta. If I didn't have Serpae Tetra in my 90g, then one Betta would go in there and the other could go in the new 40 breeder.

I've tried selling the 10g, but no one wants them....

Well, once the water level dropped a bit, it dried up and is no longer leaking. This tank is driving me nuts..lol

well watch over the tank very closely. leaks don't get better over time, they only get worse. plus, since ten gallon tanks are produced in such large numbers, you can probably find one for less money then the silicone you would need (as well as the time, etc.) to reseal the tank.

I have other 10g tanks I am trying to sell. They are just too small of tanks to be of any use to me anymore. Actually, it seems most people want nothing to do with them, lol.

Well if you were close enough I would be interested in the 10's for all the baby angels and mollies that keep adding up lol.
