ok i just bought 4 more neons to fill up the school, and 2 more serpaes to do the same
just wanted to know if everything looks alright... and if i need to move the synodontis so that i can add more cories...

the tank size is 30gallons
here are the specks

one black angel fish

Two pricilla tetras

four Black Tetras

four serpae tetras

one banjo cat

one cory cat

one upside down catfish (Synodontis)

a few Ram horn snails, mts, and pond snails...
six neon tetras

i added picks for any who question the validity of my species identifications (please tell me if i got any wrong, or i need to be more specific on any...)

I like the tank! although there wasn't a picture of the whole tank...
I couldn't get the picture of the black angelfish for some reason, but the rest look good! I think the cory is a bronze cory. although sometimes other species look pretty similar.
although I really like the upside down catfish, cories definately do better in a group.

and you put two pictures of your "4 black tetras".

alright, i fixed the bugs and added a pic...
and i think the cory is an emerald cory... but ill see what the difference is between the two species and compare...

should i move the synodontis out, and put more cories in, or put the cories in anyway, right now the synodontis is about 5 inches, and has plenty of hideing spots, but i dont know if ther is enought room for more bottom feeders with it...

I would go with a couple more corys and a couple more priscillas. Also, not very familiar with banjos, but don't they get pretty large and eat smaller fish? If so, you might consider a different setup for that guy
 
I think it is a great start. You really need more cories, though, they are best in groups and are really fun to watch when with others. My other advice would be to fill out the tetra schools as well, to give the tank more color. I think long tanks need nice big schools of fish to make them look filled.
 
ok so there is enough room for 2 more pricilla tetras and say... 3 more cories?

also the angel hasn't eaten a single neon in the 1.5 years that it has lived with the neons... but it eats lots of plants and flakes... duno maybe its a pacifist? lol

i guess this means that i will have to step up water changes!!

all of your tetrsa would prefer to be in groups of at least 6

aren't bango cats- synodonis pictus? maybe that's just at my old LFS but if so he's going to out grow your tank big time

i'd suggest picking one of those tetras and having a real school like 10 of 'em - you'll truely enjoy the difference in behavior

then i'd get a min of 4 of e/a of those schooling cats

otherwise good the angel will fit with the three schools

if i'm wrong about your banjo then it might be ok too i don't know the specs if it's not the pictus
 
:read: its a ban(j)o cat, it is banjo-shaped, look in the picture...
it is not a pictus, but a very cool cat that burrows into the gravel during the day, and scavenges at night... it will act like a leaf, and wont move, i have to pick it up and place it out of the way during water changes, the fish don't notice it...

i dont think i could place 3 synodontis euruptus or whatever type it is, in my 30 gallon if they each get to be 5 inches long...

ok so thats 2 votes for reduceing the number of types of fish and increasing the number of each/ one school.... but can i keep the synodontis and add more cories????
