i am planning ongetting two dwarf gourmais and what would be good tankmates for a ten gallon tank.

Also can you keep two male dwarfs together

Yeah, the dwarf gouramis aren't aggressive so keeping two males wont be a problem. Dwarf gouramis go good in a community tank, peacefull fish, tetras, guppies, angelfish, corys, etc. Have fun with those guys, i wanted to get some but my tank is fully stocked.

Male dwarf gouramies ARE territorial and can get aggressive with each other. I would suggest getting one male for a 10 gallon or at least have a ton of plants and hiding places.

Any small peaceful fish will work well. Cherry barbs, rummynose tetras, cardinal or neon tetras, kuhli loaches, cories, livebearers (endlers, swords, platies, guppies), and zebra or leopard danios will all work.

Dwarf Gouramis can sometimes be agressive and territorial towards eachother. I guess it depends on the fish but more often then not they dont get along with a fish of the same species. So I wouldnt recommend more then 1 in a 10 gallon. They are fun and pretty fish though.

Why don't you try Honey Gouramis? I've kept two males together before and they were the best of pals. I never experienced any form of aggression from them.

I too would suggest just a single gourami in the 10 gallon. Then add soem cory catfish on the bottom (3 perhaps) and a small school of tetras (5) of the smaller varieties (silver tip, rummy nose, cardinal, neon, lemon, black neon, head and tail light) or some white cloud minnows.

You could also going with some freshwater shrimp like ghost or amano.

thanks i went with two gouramis the person at the lfs assured me they would be alright. i talked to her for she seemed to know what she was talking about, no problems so far. I decided on 6 long finned zebra danios and 1 otto. out of the 3 pet stores i choose this one it seems to be the best
