tankmates for dwarf gourmais

Kiko- I concur;)

It's generally not a good idea at all. Males are particularly territorial and there isn't much room in a 10g. Just as with bettas and other anabantoids, gouramis can have very distinct personalities and whatnot. It can totally depend on the individuals you get. I've got 3 males in a 10g but that is sheer luck and awhile back there was a problem that has seemingly resolved itself. That said, to anyone reading this, don't try it unless you are prepared to separate them and/or take them back. One male gourami to a small tank.

If you do get more than one male, do not get 2. Get 3. Two will generally result in one being dominant and harassing the crap out of the submissive one.

And don't listen to what your fish store people tell you;) Even if they seem like they know what they're doing - they're trying to sell you stuff. I mean, I was actually told that ID sharks would make good tankmates for a betta in a 5g tank.

I suggest that you just get one male. and then add some small fish. If you want your tank to be colorful I suggest tetras. welcome to the forums
