Hi guys! I have a question about Parrot Fish. My roommate as a 80+ gallon tank (might be bigger) and he has about 5 parrots and 2 Silver Dollar fish in there at the moment. He's trying to find tankmates for them. What would be suitable for them?

Ah I must tell him... and get the exact gallons of his tank. Thanks!

Maybe a few more Silver Dollars, but that would be pushing it. Blood Parrots and Silver Dollars, when full grown, tend to be large fish.

If you can mesure the tank, please post the length, height & width. I agree that silver dollars are schooling fish and BP's certainly aren't, but it depends on the tank size. It'd be really nice if you could take out 2-3 of the parrots and replace them with SDs.

If the tank is bigger than 80g and you can get the number of fish at around 4 SD's and 2-3 BP's, you can try larger schooling fish, like Congo Tetras or Tiger Barbs. Depending on the agressiveness of the BP's, you could or could not add larger (5-7") loaches. The agressiveness of the BP's could be raised by higher than normal number of them.

i got a tinfoilbarb living with my parrot they get on fine

i have 2 parrots in a 40 breeder with an african brown knife. they all get along great

Hmm... the tank is 80 gallons T_T I'll try to convince him of all your suggestions...
