I'm looking at getting a "bottom feeder" for my tank. What would be compatable for Tetras? Would Bettas get along with Tetras, or is there something else that would do better?

Thanks!

Well I have several possibilities for you then there’s
Corydoras
Kuhli Loaches for the bottom
And there’s dwarf Gouramis, rams but never put these to together in such a small tank because of the aggression. Well hope this helps.

I have read that Bettas do well with Tetras, but I have found that my Betta hangs out near the top of the tank more often then at the bottom.

If you're looking for something to do some tank cleaning for you, I would recommend snails (the good kind). I didn't think much of mine at first, but have grown very fond of it, and enjoy watching it in the evenings when it gets more active. My Apple Snail is great at cleaning up any foods left behind by the fish.

Another option might be shrimp. They are very cool to watch. Once I finish cycling my tank, I have plans to add some myself.

Hope that helps.

Well, bettas are definately NOT bottom dwellers, so you should not get a betta if you're looking for a bottom dweller/feeder. A small group of cories, ottos, snails, shirmps, those are all good bottom feeders.

I like corys for bottom dwellers. There are so many to choose from. Just remember to keep them in groups of no less then three (more if possible) and they will play nice togather and not get bored.
