Still in planning stages for my new aquarium (72"X18"X30") Would like to put a group of electric yellow labs with blue dolphins and peacocks. Does this sound reasonable....would I add anything else...was thinking of a school of tiger barbs. By a group I mean about 5 or 6 of each species. Comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thnx

If you provide alot of rock caves, and all the cichlids are close to the same size you may be okay. I would have a second tank set up and running, just in case you have to rescue one or more of them from the others. You should expect alot of chasing though.

I am unsure why you would want the tiger barbs in there. If you are going to have barbs I would get atleast 12.

If you are getting target fish, I would get danios.

I would have planty of rock work and caves for your fish to hide in and get them all about the same size.

I WOULD HAVE A TANK DEDICATED TO JUST BARBS. THEY CAN BE A BIT ON THE AGGRESSIVE SIDE. IF YOU KEEP THEM IN LARGER GROUPS THEY WONT NIP AS MUCH. DONT PUT BARBS WITH FISH THAT HAVE LONG TAILS.. THEY WILL BITE THEM OFF AHH.
