I use tap water to fill up my fish tankand when I clean it out. I then put dechlorinizer(ok..don't know how to spell it at the moment) tablets into the water. Is this safe to do?

e

I use a Python to change the water, and make sure to treat the water as it's being added to the tank (put the chemicals right where the water is coming out). I've never lost fish due to chlorine.

If your water company uses chloramine, which many do from tme to time, you need to use an ammonia remover as well. Most of use use Prime or Kents ammonia detox.

The tablets I get aren't expernsive. I get 8 in a box. They are called Start Right tablets.they are a conditioner and dechlorinizer. I get them from Petsmart.

ok..that is true..I'll see if I can find it.

You don't empty out the whole tank though do you?
