PH right out of the tap may read higher, let a glass of water stand out for about a day or so and recheck, it should be lower, ours is a little over 8, after about 18 hours its down to the low to mid 7's .......

ahhh ic, i've been testing straight out of the tap, i had to use high range ph tests. but im just thinkin of adding driftwood.
i dont have a kh test.. only bought the api master kit and no, i've been testing straight from the tap.
