Does any one have suggestions for tough target fish I can keep with my sals in a 55? I'm hoping that a few other fish in the tank will keep his aggression directed away from her. Currently, they are quickly doing away with some giant danios. Suggestions?

Thanks.

8-10 tiger barbs

tigerbarbs, just pick the right size.

I picked up 6 2inchers and my bass ate them all one by one haha.

Im going to go with the 4inchers they have at only a few bucks more.

Although I agree that tiger barbs are the best choice if anything is going to work out, you may not even be able to keep them. I have a 55 with a large severum, a convict, and a firemouth as the larger aggressive fish, and they kill every dither I try to keep, including TBs. I've since given up trying to keep dithers in that tank.

Have you tried rearranging the decor? That might throw them off a bit when they have to re-establish territories, and sometimes can help with aggression. Or, can you add more hiding spots in your tank, like caves, rocks, plants (probably would have to be fake ones), or something else that would help to break up the line of sight from one end to the other? That might help too.

what do you feed bass?
Pretty much anything - Largemouth have been known to eat small alligators, ducklings, etc! :shark:

Well, thanks for the suggestions, but I was too late. They were a breeding pair, but he killed her over the weekend.

Sorry for your loss
