tattooed fish is ok

Actually mice and rats have enjoyed a steady increase of popularity over the years as pets. The "vermin" view towards them is lessening.

not so sure about that one....If I were to see rats or mice running around in my house, first thing I would think is "vermin".

If you do a search on the web you'll find huge communities of people who breed, show rats and mice myself included. They are becoming extremely popular as pets. I'm not refering to the ones that run around your house. Those are wild not domestic strains.

i tried to keep a wild one as a pet. it kept escaping. finally i let it go out in the woods and it ran all the way back to my car, jumping into the wheel and disappearing.

I'll give you that....but when you see those crazy video clips where a house or barn is over-run with rats (by the thousands), kinda gives them all a bad name.

How so? Are they not doing what they do naturally and trying to survive in a world dominated by humans? Granted they can be a nuisance in the wild, but for those they have kept them as pets, they are by and large superior to the commonly kept small animals. People that are appalled by rats are ignorant and deprived. I'd go as far to say that "vermin" applies far more to hamsters.

Anyway, back on topic.

Just to clarify, I was referring to their legal status, not how some people may view them; in other words, the animal police ain't gonna show up at your door because you set a mouse trap.

this guy is probably the same guy that would sell discus or blood parrots with tehir tails chopped off...

What is this about? I never heard of that. Do they think it makes them look better?

There have been several threads started over the CNN issue. Trying to figure how we can get all the way to chickens and rats.

I'll move this over to general chit chat for all our continued amusement and discussion. :)

Yes. Actually, a BP dyed pink or red with no tail looks like a little heart swimming sideways. Isnt that cute? I think it's a wonderful idea. Also, if you cut off all 4 of a dogs legs, and tatoo thier whole bodies brown (shaving them always) Guess what that would look like?
