Here is a link to a page that explains encopresis - the term for soiling with stool past toilet training age. Interesting that when this occurs, there is a much greater incidence in boys than girls.

Parents can make a court case out of this if they really want to, not that I would ever do that. Feces contain some serious potentially hazardous bacteria, what if another child was exposed to it?
