tech question on lighting about 50/50 Bulbs

The tank I'm going to set up was a reef tank. I had/have 50/50 CF lights. From what I read they say you need 'X' k and daylight. They talk about 50/50and acrylic and say its for saltwater. What I’m don’t know is will they work FW plants because, I all ready have them or would I need to get new lights?

the 50/50 and acrylic aren't for plants. just switch out the bulbs for a 67k or 10k

I'm guessing by "acrylic" you mean "actinic". bkw is right though, just toss/give away/sell the bulbs and get some 6700K bulbs for plants.

i ran one for over 6 mo, you can't really tell it was on the tank with my other reg bulb. When I replaced it was like doubling the light that was already on it if that makes sense. If not sorry had a few teeth pulled this morning so not really all there today.
