How do you do water changes on that thing?!?!?!?!?! WoW! Must cost heckuva lot of money and heckuva lot of skill and time!

Yes it seems the Sweetwater epoxy is superior, well known and used.

Maybe this picture should be posted in fish stores where they sell pacu's. I knew they got big......but D@M*! Didn't think that big.....

I don't know if I'd trust paint only as a wood sealer either. We've always used fibreglass & resin and on the new tank my husband also used gel-coat as well. That is a pretty nice Pacu - about the size of our small one, our old Pacu is about 40-45 pounds now. :)

I agree. Especially if plywood is being used as the walls. Plywood has a natural internal stress (due to the fabrication process) which will cause it to check due to moisture. Epoxy isn't 100% waterprooof (maybe 99%) so a slight amount of moisture will seep into the plywood. In the long run, over 5 years or so, the internal movement of the plywood will need to be stabilized, and that's why fiberglass resin should be used to prevent this. It is also not a good idea to epoxy the non water side of the plywood since you will not give any moisture in the plywood a chance to escape.
