When dealing with the public you have to deal with intellect and the ignoramus and often that can be the same person. So learn here where you an afford to make mistakes. Not like you can be fired for your opinion (within reason) but it does give you a taste of what you will have to deal with. If you can't or won't deal with it here how do you expect to deal with it in real life? By virtue of your very age you are going to have to deal with attitudes similar to what I gave you. I give you an F on it but at least you can try again. Why I would never hire a kid is because they think they know it all. The exact same person that comes in demanding a competitive salary and yet is all talk and won't take a 90 day trial period because he thinks he is too good for it. I just don't need the headaches and have seen it too often to be fooled by talk. If you can work on old stuff, then how do I know you can work on state of the art? An IT shop has both customers - ppl that have equipment that is so old you have no experience on it or so new you have the same problem. It's not as cut and dry as you might think. Anyone can replace parts, it doesn't take much thought. But not everyone can fix a computer. 90% of the fixes I have seen recommended on this site are simply to format and reinstall the OS. Any idiot can do that and it doesn't fix the original problem. When you can fix problems without format and reinstall, then you are truly learning.
Insisting on a job that is relevant only to your interest gives you tunnel vision. Taking unrelated jobs opens your eyes to a whole world. If you can't accept that, you are going to limit your earning potential. Education is more than what is in a book.
