Teeth getting pulled : /

Yeah, being put under=far superior to being awake. I've had so many oral surgeries it's ridiculous. I had dental implants where they had to CHISEL into my upper jaw. I was completely conscious. With each hammer blow on the chisel I felt like my skull was cracking open. Blood was splurting out unto my face! Worst thing ever ever ever. In no where near worth the final product either :/

Wisdom teeth pain ranges from person to person. Some of my friends needed to take their drugs, others were fine. I had my jaw broken, reset and splinted into place with no pain after wards. As for eating, here's what I lived off of: hot breakfast cereals such as oatmeal, sorbet, soy protein powder shakes, V-8 juice out the butt, and thickened broths (take veggie broth and add a little starch to it, boil it until it thickens). I found warm things to be more soothing than cold things, as it seemed like I would get an "ice cream headache" easier.

I remember when they did mine.. they numbed me from the neck up to my eyes.. and went in sugery style.. i could HEAR her cutting my flesh open, and then i heard my teeth cracking and popping against my jaw.. VERY cool IMO considering i couldnt feel much less think... i almost forgot to mention, they gave me glasses to wear so the blood spraying out of my face wouldnt get in my eyes :D

then they gave me percocet :D

Ok... I am a TOTAL Dental phobic! :( Anxiety so bad the Novocaine won't work...heart rate through the roof... the whole 9 yards.

Getting knocked out for my wisdom teeth was the best time ever! :D They get you all comfy and give you the juice in your arm and then tell you to count backwards slowly...

Mine was "Ten, Nine, Ayyyyy" OK! Time to wake up we're done! :D They laughed at me when my first words were "MM hungray whem cam I eath?" I was packed so full of gauze I looked like a rabid chipmunk but I still grabbed a milkshake on the way home. :p:

I lived on those "Boost" liquid drinks, home-made potato soup (creamy no chunks) , baby-food bananas and pudding for a couple of weeks. :)

I was lucky and had mine taken early (Navy thing). They gave me good drugs and I went out the night of and partied. I knew others that I truly felt sorry for though. It varies from person to person. Some feel much pain, some don't. I wish you the best RW! If it doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger.

That's craziness!

I had mine pulled out back in high school and all I remembered was the dentist telling me to count backwards from 10 and I was knocked out. They woke me up after who knows how long and I was still under the influence on my way home. I was starving that night 'coz I couldn't eat anything and I knew I was NOT supposed to eat any solid foods, but the hamburger was so tempting that I nibbled a few bites. Thank goodness I didn't get any infections! Hahaha

i got put out when mine were removed... gotta love the gas. i didn't get too much pain afterwards cause i had a giant bottle of t3's

im also going tomorrow, small world huh?

but...i have 7 wisdom teeth. yes. 7. one is going in straight towards my jaw and there are two up top, that he isnt even sure if he can get to. theres not enought room in my jaw for any more teeth!! oh god...i hate dentists to begin with...tomorrow is going to suuuuuck. but i get to choke down snack packs for a week, which is kind of a plus. also the painkillers will be killer

Im definitely going to TRY to stick to the boring food... but I eat 24/7 so Idk how its gonna work for me : / Never really eat the 'watery foods' normally. soup sounds really good... baby food I need to try, milkshakes all the way

Every single last one of those things sounds nasty... except sorbet, dont know what it is, but i'll look it up. V8, the only flavor I like is the berries, but broths sound good. (VERY VERY picky eater here :])
Im going to stay away from the cold things... cept for icecream, I'd say the same thing with cold stuff, but who can resist icecream? Not me.

We'll be chipmunk buddies. I actually like the dentist though. Makes my mouth feel cleaner than I can ever make it. But I dont think I'll particularly enjoy this visit tomorrow. Good luck.
