Yeah, being put under=far superior to being awake. I've had so many oral surgeries it's ridiculous. I had dental implants where they had to CHISEL into my upper jaw. I was completely conscious. With each hammer blow on the chisel I felt like my skull was cracking open. Blood was splurting out unto my face! Worst thing ever ever ever. In no where near worth the final product either :/
Wisdom teeth pain ranges from person to person. Some of my friends needed to take their drugs, others were fine. I had my jaw broken, reset and splinted into place with no pain after wards. As for eating, here's what I lived off of: hot breakfast cereals such as oatmeal, sorbet, soy protein powder shakes, V-8 juice out the butt, and thickened broths (take veggie broth and add a little starch to it, boil it until it thickens). I found warm things to be more soothing than cold things, as it seemed like I would get an "ice cream headache" easier.
