Temp for Planted Tank?

...those digital thermometers are known to be widely inaccurate. ...

Thanks for reminding me to check this out. I'd been so busy, I hadn't got back around to my intital thought of checking it against the thermometers I already have.

I just got up and dropped 2 el'cheapo's in the tank, while writing this. I'll get back with the results.

its kind of funny and I was thinking about it today...I have been worrying more about maintaning plants in an aquarium than what aquariums are really built for... FISH! I havent even thought about when im going to add livestock, only what plants i want to get and how to keep them healthy.

I keep my water at 77-80. Thats fine for all plants and most fish.

Your plants won't care about the temperature, that's more generally determined by the type of fish you intend to stock this with and adjusted to provide for their needs.

Alrighty. I think we've determined how much a plant could care-less about the temp.
So I'm going to see if I can get away with highjacking myself. And and ask about a prefered temp for a shrimp, instead of starting a new thread.
I have a few snails now. And thats a 20 or so type of few. Not the dayum, ya gots a few snails they'r doncha! thing. ; ) I'm working on the latter, this tank has only looked like this for a week now.

Back to Temp(s).

I'm guessing snails care just a little more than plants, about the temp.

Any prefered range for shrimps?

From what I've seen for prices on here. I'm looking forward to having some CRS.

Thanks, everyone!
