Hi To Everyone
I have just joined and hoping that some one can possibly help........
I have been keeping tropical fish now for just over 1/1/2 years and have 5 tanks, although I still class myself as a newbie.
I have so far lost 6 fish this morning in my 120L tank!!!
1 x Neon who was extremely battered so that was no surprise but the others seemed to be fine one minute then just carked it!!! 4 x guppies, and 1 peppered corry.
My water is all ok have just tested but the temp was high.......
I have just done water change and the temp has come down to 80, we are just experiancing a very hot past couple of weeks so I'm hoping this is just the answer.
I have clown loaches, kissing gouramis, a gold gourami and other corries pepered and albinos that I have had for well over 12 months and they all seem fine......
I added 3 yoyo loaches about 3 months ago and wonder if they have anything to do with the deaths??
The guppies seem to die overnight ......
Maybe I should just keep doing water changes to reduce temp and hope that the weather cools down a bit........I didn't have this problem last year so any help would be great..........
My other tanks are ok with the heat
Guppy tank
Fighter tank
Angel tank
Killifish tank

wow high temps? wish we did , its in the teens here. do you have a heater on this tank to? unless your water went over 83 I do not see a problem

By the water being ok, does that mean 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and 20 or so nitrate?

HI
Thanks for the quick replys
Ha OMG I have just looked @ the thermometer and I have read it wrong (only got it the other day) the temperature at the moment is sitting @ 86 and that's after 50% water change so ummmm yeh it was high!!!!!!
Around 90!!! The tap water itself really doesn't seem much cooler......I could start to add ice but that will certainly keep me on my toes.......and no, no
heater.
Think I may have answered my own question!!
Like I say all other fish seem fine it's just the guppies in that tank that are dropping on their arses, oh and the peppered cory that was fine one minute and then I looked back about 5 min later and he was dead. I have looked him over and his colours are gorgeous and no sign of any disease......so must just be the heat.

Sorry yeh water fine NH3/NH4 0 NO2 0 don't have a test for NO3 but never have any bubbles coming up when I gravel vac so presuming ok. PH 7

Temp at the moment outside is 32/90 humidity 66% hoping for some rain to cool it down I can hear thunder so fingers crossed, and no just a standard 13w fluro

turn off the tank lights, make some ice cubes with dechlorinated water, reduce the water level a little so the water coming from the filter splashes a bit, take off the lid and put a fan next to the tank to blow over the water.
