just thought i would poll after seeing what a difference 4 degrees made in the behavior of my nicaraguensis.. sorry its not in metric. i'm not that smart.

I keep all my tanks at a constant 80degress all year with the exception for the fish i want to breed. Fish i am trying to breed i keep at 82 and even 84 for some fish with alot of water changes.
when the temps came up to 82, their colors got better and the 2 smaller ones were lip locking to see who'd be third place. they didnt even mess with the bigger one who was strutting around like a peacock with his colors better than ever. far as i can tell, they all have the black spots on the tail so all three are males. there are some at the lfs that dont have tail spots, but their heads look a little different in shape- not much different in color. maybe its just from being underfed.. i'm guessing the lfs does this to keep the waste and maintainence down.
im gonna raise my temp to 80 and see what happens. ive got mbuna in there. since hte topic is temperature, when i got bakc from my vacation i found my temp to be almost 60 degrees
luckily no1 died but hte water was pretty freackin cold.
