i dont have any pics, but i have a little 1 inch pot with moss all over it and my cherry shrimp basically live in that pot

Haha, I just grabbed a few pots and threw them in all willy-nilly. The fish love them, and I think it looks nice and rustic too. They're definitely a fun and cheap way to decorate.

Did you worry about the paint on those pieces when you put them in the tank? Or maybe it's only glazed painted pots that should be avoided? (I kinda need to know since I have a little thing I picked up recently that I want to put in the betta tank, but it's a painted/glazed surface, and not specifically food-safe considering it's original use in a windchime. Even though I would advise someone else against risking it ... I'm so tempted!)

I painted that pot with a food safe grade paint and let it soak in water for a few weeks and also scrubbed it before I placed it in the tank. I haven't had any water issues thus far, and it's been over 6 months since it's been in there. I remember reading something about glazed pieces but I'm not sure if they said it was safe or not. That's probably something I should know lol, I always see fun things that I think would look good in one of my betta tanks but worry about what paint/glaze they used. Your idea sounds really cool btw =]
I didn't even know there was food-safe grade paint ... Is it usually available at craft stores like Michaels, Jo-Anns, etc.?

Honestly, I'm not exactly sure as to the brand that was a used, a friend of mine repairs and repaints vintage tank pieces and uses a specific paint that is supposedly aquarium friendly, ( I think the kind they use to actually paint most of aquarium decor that is being sold out there ) all I was told that it was food safe. He also mentioned being able to use a acrylic based paint and then coating in a marine-grade epoxy resin. I guess that would give it a sort of glazed appearance also? I can ask him when I see him next where he buys it from and send you a PM with the info. He only had blue and white left over at the time so I chose white, since it would blend in nicely with the existing rocks and such that I had in there. I'm a paranoid person though, and with every few water changes I pull it out and give it another scrub ( that's why there are so many scratch marks on the pot in the picture ) which has been becoming harder since the crypts are growing pretty well in there and are rooting. Soon I'll be pulling them out completely and planting them normally and finding something else that will give the potted plant appearance.
