Test color changes with more time

My API tests do this too. I don't think there's anything wrong with your kit considering how many people seem to experience the same thing.
 
Mine do this too... BUT only when the bottles got down to the half way mark, tests from my new full bottles don't. My theory is that if they are not shaken enough, the chemicals are not used evenly and will give less accurate and stable results as the bottles become empty. This is only my second set of nitrate bottles, so I'm testing my hypothesis by making sure I shake VERY well before using and see if this makes a difference.
